Partnership Disputes

An unfortunate truth is that not all business relationships end or continue on cordial terms.  There are specific rules governing the relationship between partners in general partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability partnerships.  These rules exist in the law and if one exists, any written partnership agreement.  When disagreements arise between partners it often leads to inappropriate conduct and damage to the business.  This conduct may lead to a violation of those rules and one partner may have claims against the other(s) for their actions.

Whether the partnership is operated by a written or oral agreement, some common claims that may arise between partners are listed below:

* Embezzlement
* Conspiracy
* Self-dealing
* Misappropriation of trade Secrets
* Business disparagement
* Breach of fiduciary duties
* Fraud
